FAQ

Questions about the course

Everything people ask before they start Front Office Essentials.

How much does it cost?

Enrollment opens soon. Join the waitlist on the home page and we'll email you the price and the day it opens.

Do I need dental experience?

No. The course starts with the basics: who's who in the office, tooth numbers, common procedures and the words patients and insurance companies use. If you've worked with customers before, you already have the people skills; the course teaches the dental side.

How long does it take?

About 20 hours of lessons and practice across 21 modules. It's self-paced, so you can finish in a few weeks of evenings or spread it out. Most lessons take 5 to 20 minutes.

What are the practice calls?

There are 24 of them. You talk with an AI patient (out loud, or by typing) who answers like a real caller: a new patient, someone in pain, a parent, an insurance rep, an upset patient. When you end the call you get a score on a checklist of what a great front desk call includes, with specific feedback, and you can try again as often as you like.

Do I need to own dental software?

No. The Practice software lab is a mock practice management system built into the course. You register a patient, attach insurance, book from a treatment plan, check the patient out and post payments, the same steps you'll do in whatever system your office uses.

Do I get a certificate?

Yes. When you finish every lesson and pass the final exam you get a Certificate of Completion with your name and a certificate number. An employer can check the number online to confirm it's real.

Is this a license or state certification?

No. Dental front desk jobs don't usually require a license; offices hire for skills and attitude. The course teaches the common national standard and tells you where rules vary by state or by office, so it works wherever you live in the US.

Will it get me a job?

No course can promise that. What it does is let you walk into an interview able to talk about insurance, scheduling and phone calls like someone who has done them, because you have, in practice. The Getting hired module covers your resume, a practice interview and your first 30 days.

Can I do it on my phone?

Yes. Lessons, readings, checks and practice calls work on a phone. The schedule builder and software lab are easier on a bigger screen, so a laptop or tablet helps for those.

I manage a dental office. Can I train my whole front desk?

Yes. Accelerated Dental Training, our parent company, trains the whole team, with skills signed off and a monthly report for the dentist on every person.

What happens after I enroll?

Checkout is handled by Stripe. After you pay, you sign in with the email you used at checkout at learn.accelerateddentaltraining.com, the training portal for Accelerated Front Office and its parent, Accelerated Dental Training, and start module one straight away.

Is my practice call audio recorded?

No. Your browser turns your voice into text as you speak. The course keeps the words of the call and your score so you can review them, not the audio.

Does the course teach a specific practice management software?

It teaches the tasks every system shares (registering patients, insurance, scheduling, check-out, posting payments) in a mock system built into the course, so you can learn any office's software quickly.
