Who it's for
- Front desk people who already present estimates at check-out and want to do it well.
- Dental assistants who explain treatment chairside and want to own the conversation.
- Offices with a long list of treatment patients said yes to but never scheduled.
What you'll be able to do
- Read a treatment plan and explain it in plain words
- Run a consult: the patient's goals, the plan, the investment and the options
- Build large-case estimates, split work across benefit years and arrange payment
- Answer "I need to think about it" and other hesitations without pressure
- Keep the doctor's schedule at goal and follow up every unscheduled plan
The modules
What the course covers
Every module follows the same pattern as Front Office Essentials: a short narrated lesson, a reading, practice (calls, role-plays or a simulation), then a quick check. It's all set at Maple Grove Dental, the practice you already know if you took Essentials.
This is the course's approved outline. It's being built now, so module names and order may change a little before it opens.
- 01
The job
From the doctor's diagnosis to a booked appointment, the doctor-to-coordinator handoff, and owning the doctor's schedule.
- 02
Reading a treatment plan
Sequencing, phasing and alternatives, and large cases (crowns, bridges, implant crowns, dentures, periodontal treatment) in plain words.
- 03
The consult
The patient's goals, the doctor's findings, the plan, the investment, the options, and booking today.
- 04
Money
Large-case estimates, annual maximums and splitting across benefit years, pay-in-full options, financing, the membership plan and signed financial agreements.
- 05
Objections
"I need to think about it," cost, "insurance doesn't cover it," "I have to ask my spouse," and fear.
- 06
The doctor's schedule to goal
Daily doctor goals, prime time and block scheduling, procedure times by provider, lab-case timing, and filling openings from pending treatment.
- 07
Follow-up
A routine for unscheduled plans, year-end benefits and the pending-treatment list.
- 08
Doing it right
The dentist owns diagnosis and consent, no pressure tactics, Good Faith Estimates, and financing offered, never sold.
- 09
The numbers
Doctor production against goal; treatment presented, accepted, scheduled and completed; the report to the doctor.
- 10
Capstone
An in-person consult, then book the case into next week's doctor schedule to close the gap to goal.

- Phase a plan across two benefit years
- Payment options calculator
- Pending-treatment tracker

FAQ
Questions about Treatment Coordinator
Who is the Treatment Coordinator course for?
Front desk people who already present estimates at check-out and want to do it well. Dental assistants who explain treatment chairside and want to own the conversation. Offices with a long list of treatment patients said yes to but never scheduled.
Do I need Front Office Essentials first?
Finish Front Office Essentials first, or come with experience at a dental front desk. The course starts where Essentials stops: it assumes you can already answer the phones, book a visit and read an EOB.
How long does it take?
About 11 hours, self-paced, on your phone or computer. Most lessons take 5 to 20 minutes. Front Office Essentials, if you take it first, is about 20 hours.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes. When you finish every lesson and pass the final exam you get a certificate of completion for Dental Treatment Coordinator, with your name and a certificate number an employer can check online. It's separate from the Front Office Essentials certificate.
Does it teach my office's practice software?
It teaches the work every system shares, using the same invented practice as the rest of our courses. Labs for specific practice management software are coming later.
